The youngest of three brothers, born to John and Regina Luckey in Dallas, Texas, Ken Luckey has craved the proverbial spotlight from day one. Ken's fascination with acting began as early as elementary school, entertaining his peers with character voices during class readings and appearing in school plays and musicals. Upon graduating high school, Ken decided to part with his Dallas agency and follow his dreams by moving to Los Angeles. With little more than $200 to his name and a “never-fail“ attitude, Ken was able to land his first professional job on ABC's General Hospital only four months after moving to the big city. Since then, Ken has worked continuously and consistently; his credits include recurring roles on 90210 and Greek, and starring roles on House, Cold Case and Valentine. Ken's first feature lead came in 2007 with the independent film Marsten Manor, and most recently the romantic comedy Love at First Hiccup.
Ken’s passion for his craft, however, is not simply a means to an end, but rather a resource for emotional growth and continual self-renewal. His commitment to acting is evident both on and off-screen. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Ken studied under the tutelage of Ivana Chubbuck and rapidly immersed himself in the acting community. He proved to be a quick study with the improv company Groundlings, and was the youngest performer in his group at Improv Olympic. In addition, Ken has studied with Patrick Malone at the Actor's Spot, and currently works with a private coach. He is dedicated to the old James Cagney adage, "Acting is simple. Find your mark, look the other fellow in the eye, and tell the truth." Combining this maxim with an acute sensibility to his craft, Ken continues to establish himself as an impressive, charming and refreshing talent of our generation.
Ken’s personal interests further reveal his many talents. He is both an active supporter of deaf arts through his charity work with The Deaf West Theater, and an avid proponent of LA Animal Rescue and Youth Mentoring Connection. When not on set, Ken may be found sparring in the Krav Maga fighting style (Israeli combat training) or pursuing any number of sports under the LA sun. Ken is also a history buff; his love of acting perhaps matched only by his love of research and trivia.
